BCMM Business Leaders’ Breakfast

On the  21st of May 2025, BCMDA was part of the BCMM Business leaders’ breakfast. This was a stakeholders engagement session which aimed to consult the leaders in the business sector and other organs of state in BCMM with regards to the 2025/2026 Draft(Revised) Integrated Development Plan(IDP) and MTREF budget. 

Present in this session was the BCMM Executive Mayor, Cllr Princess Faku and the majority Members of Mayoral committee. The Administration was also present led by the City Manager, Mr M. Yawa. 

The presentation in this session outlined the City’s plans: 

  • Improving the state of the cleanliness.
  • Improving in revenue collection. 
  • Combating crime in the hotspot areas by improving law enforcement standards and increasing their human resource. 
  • Strides to improve the tourism sector in the city by improving the standards of the tourist attraction sites and improving state of the city’s beaches. 
  • Improving the quality of infrastructure in the city which includes state of roads and decaying buildings. 

The session also afforded the stakeholders an opportunity to engage the presentation, which they submitted the following to name a few. 

  • The high rate of crime in the city.
  • The state of the city’s infrastructure.
  • The issue of cleanliness and waste collection. 
  • The lack of enforcement of the city’s bylaws.
